The Jigglewatts have humble beginnings.
Our story begins in spring of 2006. All the ladies of The Jigglewatts had met about a year and a half prior to that on the set of a brilliantly wacky film, Z: A Zombie Musical. Yes, a zombie musical featuring "All dancing, all singing, all zombies!"

The man responsible: Mr. John McLean, the writer, producer, director of this dear film made in Austin, TX over a period of, well, quite a long time...but never a dull moment!
Anyway, back to our beginnings: one fateful day as we sat waiting for the next scene to be set, a remarkably splendid idea was born: OH what it would be like to form a sexy burlesque troupe. It had been one of our dear Ms. Hallie, soon to be known as Ms. Ruby Joule, dreams from the time she was a little girl. I believe it was at that point where images of what could be danced through each of our minds. As the images faded, the ladies exhaled, still staring out into the distance. The realization hit us all like a train in the darkness…”what is stopping us???” It reminds me of a special magnet I have stuck on my refrigerator, "Ever notice how "what the hell" always seems to be the right decision. Nothing, that’s right, absolutely nothing was stopping us. It was at that point where we would stop at nothing to reach into our minds and wrest the images that we’d seen just moments before.
So the idea was born...now we just needed a show...no small task mind you. Not only did we need dances, we needed fabulous costumes, we needed somewhere to perform, we needed money, we needed support, we needed our beautiful goddess Aphrodite to guide us down the path of glory. And so we began…
The dances came to us like fireworks in the night sky…and so we titled our first show…”Sparks Fly!” Finally finding our first place to perform, ‘The Velvet Spade’ here in Austin, TX, we opened to a sold out crowd on August 5, 2006. However it wasn’t the easiest of tasks due to several small…or perhaps not too small, changes in ownership of the venue itself, just a week before we performed…BUT in the end, everything was awesome…sadly our dear, beautiful ‘Velvet Spade’, a swanky, dark cabaret-like club with beautiful bordello women on the walls, intense red walls, etc…it has now become something entirely …’The Mohawk’…described to us as a “punk-like” ski-lodge, which is all good & well…but oh how we loved the original setting for our first show…But onto happier matters now…
I will wrap up our history by saying that after we received such a warm…or even…hot welcome by our friends, our family, the great people of Austin, we could drive this thing further & further to the top…and that is what we’re doing with day that passes by…
